Police are offering a $25,000 award for information.

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help after a 1-year-old was pronounced dead at a D.C. hospital over the weekend.

The D.C. Medical Examiner's Office said the child suffered multiple blunt force injuries, and the police department announced a homicide investigation on Monday.

Officers were first called to the 3700 block of Connecticut Avenue Northwest on Saturday for a report of a child in cardiac arrest. The child was taken to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead after "all lifesaving measures failed," according to police.

On Sunday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia determined the child suffered multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was ruled homicide. The child was identified as 1-year-old Journee Moore of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Detectives continue to investigate Journee's death. They are asking anyone who may have additional information to help the investigation to contact them at 202-727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411.

The police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
