Donahue left his parents house along Aden Road on March 22, 2010 and was never seen or heard from again.
NOKESVILLE, Va. — Shane Ryan Donahue was only 23 years old when his family reported him missing in 2010. Fourteen years later, police say they have arrested the man who killed Shane, however, officers have yet to find his body.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, Donahue was last seen leaving his parents house along Aden Road on March 22, 2010. They reported him missing two days later.
For 14 years, Donahue remained missing as police continued to investigate several leads in the cold case. In Spring 2024, detectives reactivated the investigation and began reexamining evidence and revisiting interviews with advances in analytical technology and police practices.
On Tuesday, police arrested 43-year-old Timothy Sean Hickerson in connection to Donahue's death. He would have been 28 years old when Donahue disappeared.
Hickerson was with Donahue when he was last seen leaving his parents house that March evening. Additionally, police say Hickerson was also connected to a burglary at the Donahue home just days before the disappearance.
Hickerson was arrested for burglary and murder in Palm Coast, Florida, where he remains incarcerated until he is extradited to Virginia.
