Police have yet to identify the teenager who died.
MARYLAND, USA — A teenager is dead and two others are injured after a crash early Wednesday morning in Sandy Springs, Maryland.
Shortly before 8 a.m., officers with the Montgomery County Department of Police were sent to investigate a serious crash in the area of Norwood Road and Nesbitt Farm Lane.
Investigators say a car had collided with a wooden light pole and a 17-year-old girl died. Two other 17-year-old occupants were taken to an area hospital, another girl and boy, for treatment. Both remain hospitalized in critical condition.
Following the crash, roads were closed at the intersection of Norwood Road and Nesbitt Farm Lane. Drivers were asked to use caution when navigating through the area.
Police have yet to release the identity of the teenager killed.
There is no word on what led up in moments before the crash.
The investigation into the collision remains active and ongoing.
