Officers received reports of a vehicle being driven on the sidewalk of the W&OD Trail in the area of Crosstrail Boulevard SE.
LEESBURG, Va. — An 18-year-old driver is facing charges after police say he almost hit several pedestrians while driving under the influence in Leesburg Saturday morning.
Luis D. Funez Medina is accused of driving while intoxicated (DWI), drug possession, hit and run, and driving without a license.
According to the Leesburg Police Department, officers received reports of a vehicle being driven on the sidewalk of the W&OD Trail in the area of Crosstrail Boulevard SE. While doing so, the driver nearly hit several pedestrians. No injuries were reported.
The wanted vehicle was found a short time later along Lawson Street SE.
Investigators took Funez Medina, who is from Columbia, Maryland, into custody. He has since been taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held pending a bond review.
