18-year-old woman shot dead in Manassas

MANASSAS, Va. — An 18-year-old woman is dead after a shooting in Prince William County Thursday night. So far, no arrests have been made, but detectives say the shooting does not appear random. 

Officers were called to the area of Pine View Road and Cregger Lane just before 8:30 p.m. Once on scene, they found a woman shot in a wooded area. The woman was later identified as Ashlin Yamileth Paz. Police say Paz had no fixed address.

Detectives have not found the person responsible for the shooting and are still investigating what led up to the woman's death. The investigation is ongoing and law enforcement asks anyone who may have information to contact them.
