19 Movie Lines That Are So Cringey, You'll Want To Hide Under Your Covers And Never Come Back Out

So, with that in mind, here are just a few of the most popular responses shared:

1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

"One of the cringiest moments, especially in context, was sitting in a theater at the opening weekend, and hearing Oscar Isaac spit out the line: 'Somehow, Palpatine has returned.' The problem was that there was still two hours to go. I've rarely witnessed a whole audience laugh at a scene that wasn't supposed to be funny. I'm glad that I'm not into Star Wars because that must have been horrifying for fans."

"When Diablo says something like, 'I’ve already lost one family, I ain’t gonna lose another!' He said that to a crew of mercenaries he met earlier that same fucking day."

4. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

"I'm still wondering why the hell Superman would refer to his mom by her first name."

5. Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)

"When Christian says, 'I don't make love. I fuck...HARD.' I still shiver every time those words are in my head."

"The only one that always comes to mind is, 'Do you know what happens when a toad gets hit by lightening?'"

"I love this movie, but having Jeremy Renner half-whisper, 'Do you want to make a baby?' during the film's ending was a pretty awful wording choice."

8. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)

9. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)

"When the elf is crying asking the elf lord why 'it hurts so much [to be in love]' and he replies, 'Because it was real.' I die every time. Those movies are terrible, but that line takes the cake."

10. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

"Thor arriving in Wakanda with Stormbreaker is one of my all-time favorite scenes in all of the MCU, but when Banner says, 'You guys are so screwed now,' it's just so jarring, and takes me out of the scene. I wish there was a cut that would take his line out."

11. Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)

"Andie MacDowell's line: 'Is it still raining? I hadn’t noticed.'"

12. Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

"The ass sex line. It was so pointless, added nothing to the movie, and just seemed like a stupid, juvenile, cheap attempt at wedging an unneeded laugh into a movie that was otherwise well-written, funny, and witty."

13. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)

"There is just no shrugging that off. It haunts you to the end credits, then they played it again."

16. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

"When the Orc says, 'Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!'"

17. Jupiter Ascending (2015)

"The 'I love dogs' line stands out as one of the worst lines I can remember hearing, and thinking, 'Oof, that was really, really bad' to the point of being distracted."

18. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

"All of Marion Cotillard's last moments on-screen."

"Not a single line, but a whole scene of dialogue: when Daredevil meets Elektra and they fight. It's the cringiest scene ever. I almost died of cringe overload."
