2 dead in Southeast DC crash

Southern Avenue is closed between 36th Place and Fort Dupont Street, Southeast.

WASHINGTON — Two people were killed in a crash in Southeast D.C. on Tuesday.

According to DC Fire and EMS, the crashed involved two cars in the area of Southern Avenue and 41st Avenue, Southeast.

When first responders arrived, at least one of the cars was on fire.

Two people were reported dead as a result of the crash.

It's not clear what led to the crash. No other details on the crash have been released.

Southern Avenue, Southeast is closed between 36th Place and Fort Dupont Street, Southeast.
