The thieves got away with property and the kitten.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are asking for the public's help finding a two-month-old kitten taken during a burglary in Southeast on Friday.

Just after 6:30 p.m., police say suspects entered a locked home on 15th Place in Southeast, D.C. Once inside, the suspects took the kitten and property from the home. They left the home shortly after.

The pet is described as a two-month-old Tortoiseshell kitten and can be seen in the photo below:

Anyone who has seen this kitten or who has knowledge of this burglary should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia
