2 people suffering life-threatening injuries after 2 separate in Fairfax County

The victims' identities have not been released, this includes their names and ages, along with the gender for the first shooting victim.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department are investigating two separate shootings that happened just minutes apart Tuesday night in different areas of the county, leaving two people critically injured.

Around 11:47 p.m., officers with the police department reported to the parking lot nearby Isaac Newton Square North and Wiehle Avenue in Reston, Virginia, after a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, a victim was found suffering from injuries after being shot by unknown suspects. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shooting did not seem to be a random act of violence, but no other information was provided; this includes a person of interest or motive.

The second shooting happened within 10 minutes after the first one. Officers responded around 11:55 p.m. to the area of Furman Lane, off of South Kings Highway, after a report of a man being shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. 

Both victims remain in the hospital at this time, according to police. The victims' identities have not been released, this includes their names and ages, along with the gender of the first shooting victim.

The investigations for both shootings remain active and ongoing.
