WASHINGTON — Police in DC are looking for answers after two men were shot Sunday night. One of the men was pronounced dead, while the other is recovering in an area hospital.
DC Police were called to the 2000 block of Savannah Terrace Southeast around 10 p.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a man shot. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries and is expected to survive. Police say the man was awake and breathing when he was put into the ambulance.
Minutes later, a second man was found nearby in the 3300 block of 22nd Steet Southeast. He was not conscious or breathing when he was found. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead. He has not been identified by police.
Initially, the second man's injury was thought to be a stab wound, but detectives determined the second man was shot, and both men were injured in the same shooting on Savannah Terrace.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to conduct an investigation, gather evidence and interview potential witnesses. So far, no arrests have been made. No information has been released about a suspect in this case.
