2 teens, 13 and 14, charged with assault with intent to kill

Police have not released the identities of either of the boys at this time.

WASHINGTON — Police have arrested two young teens after a shooting in Northeast D.C. late last year.

According to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), officers were called to the 3700 block of Hayes Street, off of Anacostia Freeway, around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. The man was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man's current condition is unknown at this time. 

Police arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection to the deadly shooting on March 8. The second suspect, a 14-year-old boy, was arrested March 15.

Both boys have been charged with assault with intent to kill. 

Police have not released the identities of either of the boys at this time.
