Police say the boy was struck by a southbound tram while crossing the Boardwalk near Dorchester Street.
OCEAN CITY, Md. — A little boy is dead after he was hit and killed at a popular vacation spot on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Police say a 2-year-old boy was crossing Ocean City's Boardwalk when he was struck by a southbound tram on Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
According to the Ocean City Police Department, the crash happened around 8:15 p.m. on the Boardwalk, near Dorchester Street. Both tram conductors remained on scene.
Investigators are still learning exactly what happened. A portion of the Boardwalk was closed Tuesday night for the investigation. The name of the boy struck has not yet been made public.
