5 displaced after townhouse fire in Prince William Co.

The fire was large enough to increase the response to second-alarm and additional crews were requested to help extinguish the flames.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Five people are displaced after a fire at a townhouse in Lake Ridge Tuesday night.

According to the Prince William County Fire Department, crews were called to the 12800 block of Mill House Court.

Assistant Chief Matt Smoksly said when crews arrived they found heavy fire coming from a townhouse, extending into the next-door unit. 

The fire was large enough to increase the response to second-alarm and additional crews were requested to help extinguish the flames.

After the fire was put out, investigators determined two units were damaged and a third unit has smoke damage, according to Prince William Fire. 

No injuries were reported but five adults have been displaced after inspectors deemed two units unsafe. The Red Cross has offered assistance to those who were displaced. 

There is no word on what caused the fire at this time.
