Heads up; if you can see the top of the Washington Monument, you will be able to see the fireworks show.
WASHINGTON — Beyond the familiar backdrop of the National Mall, there are plenty of other vantage points to enjoy the Fourth of July fireworks show in D.C.
The 17-minute display is scheduled to begin at 9:09 p.m. and will be launched from both sides of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, according to the National Park Service.
Here are 9+ unique spots to enjoy the show:
Mount Vernon Trail
- Bring a bike or walk along the trail on the Virginia side, near the Pentagon, until you find the best spot to stop and enjoy the show.
Washington National Cathedral
- As one of the highest points in the District, this is a great option to catch the show. Don't forget to bring a blanket or something comfortable to sit on.
Cardozo High School
- No, you don't need to be enrolled as a high schooler here to see the show from this location. Just a few blocks from U Street, Cardozo offers a good view of the skyline.
The Wharf
