Adam Devine to Host American Veterans Center’s 2024 Veterans Day Special (EXCLUSIVE)

Comedian and “Workaholics” star Adam Devine will host the American Veterans Center’s 2024 Veterans Day broadcast special, “American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes.”

“I’m so happy that we have military men and women who were able to keep us safe. If it were up to my heroic deeds, we would be speaking a different language and all have bad haircuts,” said Devine. “I’ve always looked up to veterans. It’s not only because I am height challenged. Their sacrifices are why I am able to do what I do and be who I am.”

Other celebrities who will appear during the broadcast, which airs the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 16, include Rachael Harris, Taylor Kitsch, Matthew Leitch, James Madio, Wendi McLendon-Covey, JB Smoove, Sawyer Spielberg and Aisha Tyler. Jessica Chastain, Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConaughey, Liam Neeson, Tyler Perry, Chris Pine and William Shatner will all lend their voices to the event, recounting stories of veterans and their acts of courage. This year’s musical performances include the United States Naval Academy Glee Club and the United States Air Force Band’s “Airmen of Note.”

Some of the stories to be highlighted during the celebration include “The Heroes of World War II,” “The Women of America’s Special Operations Forces,” “The American Liberators,” “The Last Buffalo Soldiers,” “Wally Funk — the Oldest Woman in Space,” the Navy story of Dan “Rudy” Ruettiger, and a tribute to Lt. Michael Murphy and the legacy of the U.S. Navy Seals.

Per the description of, “This special program provides Americans at home the opportunity to meet the ordinary citizens who, through willing sacrifice in trying times, became heroes and legends. Featuring dozens of heroes from the last 80 years of history – including nearly three dozen veterans of World War II, average age of 100 – with an audience including hundreds of students from each of the service academies – West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force academy – and ROTC programs from around the country.”  

“American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes” will air via syndication across ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW stations, as well as overseas to troops via the American Forces Network.

“We are honored to bring these stories to Americans across the country,” said Tim Holbert, president of the American Veterans Center and producer of “American Valor.” “This is a gathering from our shared history, the likes of which we will never see again, and a reminder of what brings us all together as Americans.”
