America Ferrera Is The MVP Of "Barbie," And People Can't Stop Talking About Her Performance In It

If you've seen the movie, then you know the Best Supporting Actress Oscar campaign starts now.

Hey Barbies!!! Well, today is the day, Barbie is finally in theaters and all I can say is, wow, what a movie.

Obviously, Margot Robbie was phenomenal as Barbie and gives both a wonderfully comedic and truly heartfelt performance — which is not something that is easy to pull off.

And yes, I think we can all agree that the buzz about Ryan Gosling's performance as Ken is absolutely well deserved. He was amazing in the role, truly embodying Kenergy. He definitely deserves an Oscar nomination.

However, I think it's America Ferrera's character, Gloria, who really ended up being the big surprise of the movie. Her portrayal of a mother trying to reconnect with her daughter is, as the LA Times puts it, "Barbie's secret weapon." She also delivers what might be one of the best and most powerful monologues about womanhood in all of film history. Her performance in the movie is even garnering Best Supporting Actress Oscar buzz.

America herself also took to Instagram Stories today to say she is seeing all the "love" she is getting, presumably from everyone raving about her performance.

So, I decided to roundup some tweets that celebrate America Ferrera and her truly fantastic performance:

A lot of buzz about Ryan Gosling in BARBIE, and rightfully so, but America Ferrera was my favorite performance in the film. She delivers a showstopping monologue that had everyone applauding.

An endearing, heartwarming performance that exudes so much empathy and authenticity. pic.twitter.com/mRnsrFcK0z

Greta Gerwig has done it again. BARBIE is fun, smart, and perfectly wraps its zany tone & voice around an empowering examination of the wild world of gender performance & expectation. I laughed my ass off. Cast is uniformly great but America Ferrera steals the show. pic.twitter.com/ziUjd14Dbg

can't get over America Ferrera's performance in #Barbie it's no exaggeration that she delivers one of the best monologues in the film, and in a lot of ways, it feels like the perfect bookend to her debut 21 yrs ago in Real Women Have Curves. she's phenomenal. pic.twitter.com/uAHIS3SmXt

Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling were phenomenal as Barbie and Ken. Really loved both their performances. But the real mvp of this story was America Ferrera as Gloria, her perfect delivery of the monologue was the beating heart of this story. I know Barbie is somehow Margot and Ryan's film, but I was so glad to finally see America Ferrera in a major film and with such a relevant character.

Can't believe it took them 15 years since her Emmy winning momentum to finally notice her. She deserves some praise. pic.twitter.com/GtRz5r1ciH
