DC Police responded to reports of a shooting on Half Street Southeast Saturday night, and announced an arrest Sunday.
WASHINGTON — A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting Saturday night near Nationals Park.
Around 9:20 p.m. officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the 1200 block of Half Street, Southeast for reports of a shooting. Once on scene, they found a man in an alley with gunshot wounds. He was conscious and breathing.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
By Sunday, MPD announced they had made an arrest in the case. Elonte Bookhardt,a 29-year-old from SE, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and destruction of property.
However, a second suspect who police said they believe exchanged gunfire with the man shot is still being searched for. He can be seen in photos below.
