Riders are asked to consider using local buses to get around the closure.
WASHINGTON — Heads up Metro riders, a train station in Northeast, D.C. has closed after reports of smoke.
The Benning Road Metro Station is closed for investigation, while crews work to determine the source of the smoke.
No one has been injured as a result.
Transit officials say trains are not running between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road. While crews work to arrange shuttle buses, riders are asked to consider taking local bus routes to get to their destinations.
DC Fire and EMS is currently at the Metro station investigating the smoke.
Riders are being told to expect delays and to consider using alternate forms of transportation.
