Months after the fast food chain said a franchisee closed all its locations across the state, Bojangles is once again available in Maryland.
FREDERICK, Md. — It's Bo' Time once again in Maryland as the fast food restaurant returns months after all five locations in the state were closed. Now, Bo fans can grab a cajun filet biscuit as the fast food chain opens a new location in Frederick.
Editor's Note: The video above is from March when WUSA9 confirmed all locations in Maryland had been closed.
The new restaurant is located at 1312 West Patrick Street and is open daily from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m., according to the Bojangles website.
WUSA9 was the first to report in March that all five Bojangles locations had closed in the state. According to a Bojangles spokesperson, all five locations were owned by the same franchisee who "left the Bojangles system" late last year.
The coverage led to former Bojangles workers to reach out about concerns over mismanagement of money and one woman claimed the former owner owed her more than $5,000 in back pay. The owner later filed for bankruptcy despite owing former workers and the state thousands.
WUSA9 reached out to Bojangles and confirmed that the new location is not affiliated with the group that owned the previous restaurants.
In March, the Maryland State Department of Labor was looking into the allegations of wage theft and fraud against the previous franchisee.
