After complying and giving over their personal property, the victim was shot.
WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying and finding a person of interest in connection to an armed robbery turned shooting in Northeast, D.C.
On Monday, just after 1 a.m., the suspect walked up to the victim inside a building on Minnesota Avenue, Northeast. The suspect pulled a gun on the victim, demanding their property. When the victim complied and handed over their stuff, the suspect shot the victim before running away. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. They are expected to be OK.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the video below:
Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this shooting should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
