WASHINGTON — A 7-Eleven employee has been taken to a hospital after being stabbed on the job in northwest D.C.
Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers were called to the scene in the 5400 block of Connecticut Avenue after receiving a report of the stabbing shortly before 5 a.m., police said. The adult male employee was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to recover, according to police
According to a watch commander for MPD's Second District, the preliminary investigation indicates the stabbing occurred during an altercation between the employee and a young male suspect who was asked to leave the store.
The suspect is described as a young male, approximately 16 to 20 years of age, wearing a black shirt, hoodie and pants. He was last seen heading westbound on K Street, Northwest, police said.
So far the investigation is not causing any traffic closures since the scene is contained inside the store.
