Collision on I-495 Beltway at River Road

Authorities say a truck trailer struck a bridge and a car. There are no fatalities reported as of now. Some lanes are blocked.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — The Maryland State Police Department and Montgomery County Fire and Ems teams are investigating a vehicle accident on the inner loop of I-495 (Beltway) at River Road.

Montgomery County Fire and Ems determined a truck trailer struck a bridge and a passenger vehicle, and reported it on their X account:

IL I495 beltway at River Road, collision, vehicle (truck trailer) struck bridge, debris in roadway, some lanes blocked, @MDSHA @mdsp

Authorities confirmed debris on the roadway, and some inner and outer lanes are blocked. 

As of now, one person has been transported to a nearby care hospital.
