Commanders fans celebrate QB Jayden Daniels after away win against Bengals

The rookie quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran a third against the Bengals Monday night.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Monday night, Jayden Daniels ended his third NFL game with a showstopping performance: 254 passing yards from 21 completed passes; and 39 rushing yards off 12 carries, helping the Commanders secure a 38-33 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fans stopped by Northwest Stadium, raving about Monday night's highlights. 

“I didn’t think he was going play this good this soon,” said James Briscoe. “I was waiting to see a little improvement, but amazing last night. Amazing.”

Leroy Jones said he even traded in one of his older jerseys for a jersey of the Commanders’ newest quarterback. 

“I’m a football fan, and to tell you the truth, I have never seen a rookie, this early, do so well,” he said. “It’s gonna be a GOOD year, man! I don’t know how far we can go, but I’m all in, man, I’m telling you!”

The Commanders next home game is scheduled for Sun. Oct. 6, and they’ll be taking on the Cleveland Browns. So if you want to grab some merchandise, you can head on up to Northwest Stadium to get what you need.
