He will also have to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
WASHINGTON — A D.C. man is set to serve over five years in prison for sexually assaulting multiple strangers in Northwest.
Christopher Sharp, 31, was sentenced on Friday after being convicted of third-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor sexual abuse against six different victims. In addition to the five years in prison, he was ordered five years of supervised release, to pay restitution to the Victim's Compensation Fund, and will have to register as a sex offender for ten years.
Sharp plead guilty to the charges on April 19. Investigators say at three separate times on the morning of Aug. 13, he approached three women who were walking on sidewalks in various parts of Northwest, D.C. As he passed each of the woman, he grabbed them inappropriately.
Two days later, on Aug. 15 Sharp left the George Washington University Hospital. While leaving the building, he saw a woman standing near the exit. He smacked her on the butt and walked away in the direction of Washington Circle.
Just five minutes later, he came across another woman working on K Street. As Sharp and the woman passed each other, he grabbed her butt. After this, Sharp came across yet another woman in the intersection of 19th Street and Eye Street. He approached her from behind, touched her crotch, and lifted her into the air. He then walked several feet forward before sitting down on the sidewalk, with the woman still in his grasp. Once on the ground, Sharp pinned the woman to the ground, pulled up her dress, and attempted to sexually assault her. People standing nearby stopped him from doing this, forcing him to release his grip on the woman.
Investigators say all six victims were unknown to Sharp.
