DC Police search for duo who shot fireworks at delivery driver

WASHINGTON — Police say two men on a motorcycle assaulted a man when they shot Roman candle fireworks at him over the weekend. Metropolitan Police Department officers are searching for two men captured on surveillance cameras. 

According to a police report, a food delivery driver had to go to the hospital after the men on a motorcycle shot fireworks at him and then took off. It happened in the area of the 1500 block of 8th Street, Northwest in the Shaw neighborhood around 3:15 p.m. on Sunday. 

Police said the delivery driver, who was on a moped at the time, was treated for injuries that weren't life-threatening at the hospital. The driver gave a description of the men to responding officers.

The two suspects were captured on surveillance cameras. Police released images of the two wanted men on Monday.
