The three-day event will have dozens of free services. Organizers say it’s to help those who cannot afford medical services.
WASHINGTON — Liberty and Health Alliance is hosting a free health clinic offering medical, dental, and vision services.
The clinic runs July 11, 12, and 14 at lot 8 at the RFK festival grounds located at 2500 Independence Ave SE.
Organizers are expecting thousands of people to attend.
“A lot of people either don't have insurance or if they do have insurance they can't afford the copays or the deductibles and so what happens is this kind of bridges that gap and provides an opportunity for people to get that much needed service,” said President and CEO of Liberty & Health Alliance, Dr. Lela Lewis.
Attendees will be able to take advantage of free dental evaluations , X-rays, cavity fillings, Pap smears, lung evaluations, eye evaluations, and free glasses. Barbers and beauticians will be on-site offering free haircuts. Attendees will also be able to get minor surgical procedures, legal services , counseling, and massage services. Free clothes will be provided to those who need it as well as a host of other services.
Liberty & Health Alliance has hosted these free mega clinics in the past, but this is the first time they are bringing the event to D.C.
“We’re a 100 percent volunteer organization we’re a 501 c3 volunteers come from all over the US and sometimes around the world to be able to be able to provide these services to people all,” said Dr. Lewis.
The clinic runs from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Attendees do not need ID or any documentation. All are welcome to attend.
