Reuters was first to report a long-awaited French court verdict that cleared Air France and Airbus of involuntary manslaughter in the case of a jetliner crash that killed all 228 people on board while traveling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris in 2009. Reuters reported the outcome of France’s first ever trial for such corporate charges before leading competitors. Shares in both companies rose following the verdict and outperformed broader markets, with Airbus ending up some 2%.
