MANASSAS, Va. — Craving rich custard and savory steakburgers? Mark your calendars, Manassas — Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is set to welcome you on Wednesday.
The chain is opening its newest franchise location on Ashton Avenue, at the corner of Sudley Manor Drive, in Manassas, Virginia.
Freddy’s menu features classic American fare with a focus on rich, creamy frozen custard and juicy steakburgers. You can enjoy their signature steakburgers along with crispy crinkle-cut fries and their fry sauce, which is tangy take on traditional ketchup. For dessert, their frozen custard is a highlight, available in various flavors and combinations, including sundaes, concretes (thick, blended custard with mix-ins), and shakes.
Freddy's was co-founded in 2002 by brothers Bill and Randy Simon, with their business partner Scott Redler. The restaurant chain was named in honor of the brothers' father, Freddy Simon, who grew up on a farm near Colwich, Kansas (right outside Wichita). According to the Freddy's website, Freddy Simon enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Pacific Rim region during World War II, where he earned the Purple Heart for his injuries and the Bronze Star for his bravery.
Freddy later went back to Kansas, where he built a family, dedicated 56 years to the hospitality industry, and raised six children with his wife, Norma Jean.
As of May, there were 486 Freddy's locations in the U.S. There are currently nine locations in the state of Virginia.
