In one corner, we have the legendary actor George Clooney, who can be seen in the upcoming crime film Wolfs next month on Apple TV+.

In the other, we have the also-legendary director Quentin Tarantino, who may or may not be hard at work on the script for his "final" film.

So, George recently claimed in a GQ cover story that Quentin insulted his career in a recent interview.

Before we go any further, it should be noted that George's claims are not backed up by any existing interview currently in publication. It's possible he could be referring to a chat Quentin participated in for the 2 Bears 1 Cave podcast back in 2022 — but, the director never mentioned George in said episode, so.

Alright, let's get into this: “Quentin said some shit about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him," George told GQ.

"He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Brad Pitt], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’"

"He goes, he’s not a movie star. And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’"

"And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole fucking career,’” George added. “So now I’m like, all right, dude, fuck off. I don’t mind giving him shit. He gave me shit.”

A word about George's acting career as of late: If Quentin did indeed say these things, he kind of has a point! Over the last decade or so, George has been acting considerably less than before. His most recent major film role, in 2022's Ticket to Paradise, was his first leading gig in a film that actually received a wide release in theaters since 2016's Money Monster.

If anything, he's been more of a director these days — from 2020's The Midnight Sky (which he also starred in) and 2021's The Tender Bar to last year's The Boys in the Boat.

I have not seen any of these films, but my parents have seen one or two of them.

Anyway, something tells me we haven't heard the last out of either of them about this. We'll see!
