‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 6 Casts Timothy Simons (EXCLUSIVE)

“The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 6 has added Timothy Simons to its cast in a guest star role, Variety has learned.

The news comes shortly after it was announced that the sixth and final season of the Hulu series based on the Margaret Atwood novel had gone into production in Toronto. It is slated to debut in spring 2025. Simons’ character on the show is being kept under wraps.

This is Simons’ second announced TV role in recent weeks. Variety exclusively reported that the actor is also set to appear in “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 2 at Disney+. He is best known for his role as Jonah Ryan in the award-winning HBO comedy “Veep,” on which he appeared for all of its seven seasons. His other TV credits include “Candy” and “Looking for Alaska” at Hulu, and “Station Eleven” at Max. He will next be seen in the Netflix series “Nobody Wants This,” which premieres in September. He has also been in films like “Don’t Worry Darling,” “The Interview,” “Christine,” and “Inherent Vice.”

“The Handmaid’s Tale” originally debuted on Hulu in 2017. It stars Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Sam Jaeger, Ever Carradine, and Josh Charles.

The show has been popular from the outset and became the first streaming series to win the Emmy Award for best drama series in 2017. It has been nominated for 76 Emmys in total with 15 wins.
