In an alternate reality Anne Hathaway *could have* been Barbie.
The cast of Barbie is wildly and *John Travolta voice* wickedly talented.
But there were some celebs who wanted to be in the movie but couldn't quite make it work.
Here are 10 of those people...
1. Amy Schumer was supposed to play Margot Robbie's Barbie character.
2. After Amy dropped out, Anne Hathaway was considered to be her Barbie replacement.
3, 4, 5. Dan Levy, Bowen Yang and Ben Platt were considered to play Kens.
6. Jonathan Groff almost played Michael Cera's character Allan.

Allison Jones told Vanity Fair, "Dear, dear Jonathan Groff was like, ‘I can’t believe I’m typing this, but I can’t do Allan.'"
7. Luke MacFarlane had a small part but had to turn it down

Luke auditioned for the movie and got a small part but had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts. "We tried to make it work," he told the Hollywood Reporter.
9 and 10. Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet were supposed to "pop up" in the movie.

Saoirse and Timothée are fixtures in Greta's movies, and Greta told CinemaBlend that she worked really hard to get them in Barbie and jokingly said she was "so annoyed" when it didn't work out.
