LEESBURG, Va. — In response to a troubling rise in Hyundai car theftS nationwide, the Leesburg Police Department has launched a new initiative to enhance security for local owners.
Beginning Monday, the department will be giving out free Hyundai steering wheel locks to residents to help prevent them from having their cars stolen.

You can email the information to LPD-PIO@Leesburgva.gov. If you don't have access to a computer, you can visit the station for assistance, available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Registration is necessary as supplies are limited.
The Leesburg Police Department advises all car owners to take extra steps to protect their vehicles. These precautions include parking in well-lit areas, keeping valuables hidden, and always locking their car doors.
