The actor finally returned to the silver screen as Logan aka Wolverine, and he did not disappoint one bit.

Hugh put in some serious work to prepare for the role and documented every step of his workout regimen with trainer Beth Lewis.

He started sharing behind-the-scenes photos of him getting swole in the gym in February 2023. He was an early riser and started his workouts at 4 a.m. each day.

From getting in presses on leg day...

To squats on the weight rack...

And planks with weighted plates on his back...

He mixed in cardio on the tread...

And hit the row machine again and again.

Hugh was no stranger to weight training and would incorporate kettlebell movements...

Show off his strong as hell deadlifts...

Take some time with the EZ bar...

And proved his "no days off" mentality made a huge difference just as much as the days he let his body rest.

Hugh is all about the cold plunge when it comes to recovery days. He captioned this post saying, "Is it a polar bear plunge when the temp is 36 degrees? Either way, I can tell you it felt absolutely freezing, yet completely amazing on my very sore Beth-trained body."

And he gave fans a sneak peek of what it's really like when diving into the frigid water.

Outside of the gym, it was all work in the kitchen. Hugh fueled his workout routine by eating steamed fish and vegetables four times a day for six months. He also bulked up with protein-packed meal preps like the ones below.

So, thanks for all your hard work, Hugh — there's not a single person complaining about it because why would they?
