Here's The New "The Color Purple" Cast Vs. The Original Film's Counterparts

With the trailer now out, we have our first official look at the new cast in this classic tale. They're filling the roles made famous in the 1985 original film, which starred Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah, and Danny Glover among other powerhouse performers. (The 1985 film, which was an adaption of Alice Walker's 1982 novel, inspired the Broadway musicals.)
