Cos the Barbie hole in my life is big rn.

Barbie has been out for a while, but isn't available for home viewing yet, so there's every chance you might be looking for something to watch that has a similar vibe.

Warner Bros. Pictures

Well, look not further than these 15 suggestions...

1. Don't Worry Darling

Warner Bros. Pictures

What it's about: While her husband leaves home everyday to work in a top secret facility, a young 1950s housewife begins to question her life when she notices strange behaviour from the other wives in the neighbourhood.

StarringFlorence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine

Why it's similar: Like Barbie, this film examines the different roles in society for men and women, and involves a similar alternate reality storyline.

2. Enchanted

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

What it's about: A young maiden in a land called Andalasia, who is preparing to be wed, is sent away to New York City by an evil Queen, where she falls in love with a lawyer.

Why it's similar: Like Stereotypical Barbie, Giselle is a fish-out-of-water who inadvertently lands in the "real world" where she must grapple with how different everything is to her world.

3. Spice World

PolyGram Filmed Entertainment

What it's about: World famous pop group the Spice Girls zip around London in their luxurious double decker tour bus having various adventures and performing for their fans.

Starring: Spice Girls, Richard E. Grant, Alan Cumming

Why it's similar: Obviously, the girl-power message, but they're also both incredibly surreal.

4. The Truman Show

Paramount Pictures

What it's about: An insurance salesman discovers his whole life might not actually be what it seems.

Starring: Jim Carrey, Ed Harris, Laura Linney

Why it's similar: I mean, it's hard to talk about without giving it all away. There are major parallels, trust.

5. Lady Bird

Universal Pictures

What it's about: In 2002, an artistically inclined 17-year-old girl comes of age in Sacramento, California.

Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, Timothée Chalamet

Why it's similar: It's kind of the movie that put Greta Gerwig on the map, so if you're feeling the style of Barbie, this film is a good place to go next.

6. The Stepford Wives

Paramount Pictures

What it's about: A successful TV anchor moves with her husband and kids to an idyllic community to get some respite, but she soon realises that the community isn't as idyllic and egalitarian as she'd hoped.

Starring: Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler, Matthew Broderick

Why it's similar: This movie examines the benefits and drawbacks of men running the world, which is something Barbie definitely looks at too. Also, the wives all kind of look like traditional Barbie dolls.

7. Clueless

Paramount Pictures

What it's about: Shallow, rich, and socially successful Cher is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other.

Starring: Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, Paul Rudd

Why it's similar: This is probably one of the most fashionable films ever, and, like Barbie, makes a spectacle of its outfits and aesthetic. It's also very female-focused, and explores some of the ways in which women relate to other women.

8. I Feel Pretty

STX Entertainment

What it's about: A woman struggling with her self esteem wakes from a fall believing she is the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet.

Starring: Amy Schumer, Michelle Williams, Tom Hopper

Why it's similar: Not only is this also a film about a person's altered sense of reality, it also explores issues relating to body image, self worth, and womanhood.

9. Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar

Lionsgate

What it's about: Lifelong friends Barb and Star embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time ever.

Starring: Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo, Jamie Dornan

Why it's similar: Luridly colourful and splendidly cast, this movie is stupid, surreal, and saucy in a way that *feels* Barbie-esque somehow.

10. 13 Going On 30

Sony Pictures Releasing

What it's about: A 13-year-old makes an unusual wish on her birthday and miraculously wakes up the next day as a 30-year-old woman.

Starring: Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer

Why it's similar: I mean, this film is required viewing under any circumstances really, but it's like Barbie in the way that it follows a woman who's plunged into a world that's totally new to her. It's also super colourful and full of iconic style moments!

11. But I'm A Cheerleader

Lions Gate Films

What it's about: A naive teenager is sent to rehab camp when her strait-laced parents and friends suspect her of being a lesbian.

Starring: Natasha Lyonne, Clea DuVall, Michelle Williams

Why it's similar: Aside from its candy-coloured aesthetic and surreal set design, this film closely examines womanhood, specifically as it pertains to queerness.

12. Legally Blonde

MGM Distribution Co.

What it's about: A fashionable sorority queen is dumped by her boyfriend and decides to follow him to law school. There, she figures out that there is more to her than just looks.

Starring: Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair, Jennifer Coolidge

Why it's similar: I mean, look at Elle Woods... She could be stereotypical Barbie! And like SB, Elle learns that she can thrive as a woman in a male-dominated world.

13. Miss Congeniality

Warner Bros. Pictures

What it's about: An F.B.I. agent must go undercover in the Miss United States beauty pageant to prevent a group from bombing the event.

Starring: Sandra Bullock, Michael Caine, Benjamin Bratt

Why it's similar: This film portrays an ensemble of women all conscious of how they look and behave, which is kind of like Barbieland. Also, I can't help but feel like Gracie Hart and stereotypical Barbie would really get along!

14. Life-Size

ABC

What it's about: A widower's daughter accidentally brings her doll to life while trying to cast a spell to resurrect her mother.

Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Tyra Banks, Jere Burns

Why it's similar: If you are obsessed with dolls, there's nothing more exciting than a doll come to life, surely? Kind of like... Uh... Barbie the movie!

15. The Wizard of Oz

What it's about: A girl and her dog are swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. There, they embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard and have their wishes granted.

Why it's similar: Greta paid homage several times to the 1939 classic in Barbie. The Golden Age movie also features a young woman who is transported a land completely different her's.
