"It's Very Interesting To Get A Call From The Head Of HBO, Saying 'What Can We Do?'": Kim Cattrall Revealed Her Major Request Before Agreeing To Appear On "And Just Like That..."

All that's really been reported about her upcoming appearance is that her character Samantha will have a phone call with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the season finale. Kim reportedly didn't film with her SATC cast mates Sarah, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon.

Fans are very much looking forward to Kim's (brief) return to the SATC universe...including Alyssa Farrah Griffin.

On Wednesday, Kim stopped by The View to promote her new Netflix series Glamorous, though Alyssa took a moment during the interview to ask what Kim could divulge about her And Just like That... appearance.

This prompted Kim to share a major request she had when HBO came calling to ask she if she'd appear on the show.

"It's very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO, saying 'What can we do?'" Kim said. "I went, 'Hm, let me get creative.'"

"One of those things was to get Pat Field back," she continued.

Pat was SATC's longtime and famed costume designer, winning an Emmy in 2002 for her work on the show. Pat was also nominated for an Oscar for her costume design in The Devil Wears Prada.

Pat didn't return as the costume designer for And Just Like That..., instead Molly Rogers has taken over the role. Pat is currently that costume designer for Emily in Paris.

For Kim, however, she needed Pat back for her scene.

"I just thought, if I'm going to come back, I'm going to come back with that kind of Samantha style," Kim said. "I got to push it, and we did."

Pat and Kim have maintained a friendship over the years, with Pat even dressing Kim's character in Glamorous. There's also a new documentary about Pat, titled Happy Clothes, and Kim showed up to the film's Tribeca Film Festival premiere on June 15.

So Kim and Pat are both worked (temporarily) on And Just Like That...? Okay, now Kim's appearance really can't come soon enough.
