Jenna Ortega Just Paid Homage To Winona Ryder's Lydia Deetz From "Beetlejuice" With This Perfect Outfit

We're only a few weeks away from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hitting theaters, and as someone who watches the original Beetlejuice religiously every Halloween, I'm so excited.

A sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set around 36 years after the events of the first film and follows the Deetz family as they return home to their iconic house. Soon, Lydia's daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysteries of the house and Betelgeuse.

Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, and Michael Keaton are reprising their roles from the first movie, with Jenna Ortega starring as Astrid. This marks Jenna's second collaboration with Tim Burton after Netflix's Wednesday, which is currently filming its second season.

Since Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be released soon, press for the film is in full swing, with the stars already stepping out in some memorable outfits inspired by the spooky and gothic vibe of both films.

Notably, Jenna has already been seen wearing pinstripes and all-black outfits, which perfectly pay tribute to Beetlejuice. However, her most recent outfit is just a next-level amazing homage.

Yesterday, Jenna was spotted in NYC wearing a Thom Browne ensemble that matches Lydia Deetz's final outfit from Beetlejuice.

You can see that Jenna is wearing a plaid skirt and blue sweater, which also features the logo for Lydia's school from the movie.

Here's a side-by-side of the two outfits:

Lydia notably wears this in Beetlejuice during the final scene when she dances to "Jump In The Line" by Harry Belafonte, aka the "Shake, shake, shake, Senora" dance moment.

And, just to complete her outfit, Jenna's purse was a recreation of the Handbook For the Recently Deceased, which Barbara and Adam receive after dying in Beetlejuice.

Of course, Jenna's purse, which was reportedly designed by Ozias Paris, reads "Handbag For the Recently Deceased" instead, which is just flawless.

Speaking about joining Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and working with Winona in particular, who is also a Tim Burton movie legend, Jenna recently told Fandango, "[The set] just felt like a free and collaborative space, but Winona and I — I swear we just started talking one day on set and then never stopped."

I cannot wait to see Winona as Lydia again and Jenna's work as Astird in the new movie. I just know they're going to be great together.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hits theaters on Sept. 6.
