Jon & Kate Gosselin's Son Collin Says His Mom Took Out Her "Anger And Frustration" On Him

"I'd say my misbehaving was no different from my siblings."

Kate Gosselin's son Collin is speaking out about his relationship with his mom — and how they ended up becoming estranged.

In case you weren't watching TLC in the the early 2000s, Collin and his siblings were the stars of reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, chronicling his family's life with eight children.

When Jon and Kate split in 2009, Kate got primary custody of the kids — but things were tough for Collin while living under his mom's roof.

In 2016, when Collin was just 12, Kate revealed he had been enrolled in a live-in learning facility — a "special school for special needs kids with behavioral problems."

While she didn't really give any further information at the time, Collin has since spoken out, admitting he was unhappy at the school.

He ended up getting pulled out of the school by Jon, and in December 2018, his dad was awarded custody.

Looking back, Collin says he doesn't feel like his behavior as a child was any different than his siblings.

"I'm not gonna say I was a perfect child, but I'd say my misbehaving was no different from my siblings," he shared on an upcoming episode of Dark Side of the 2000s.

Collin's sister Hannah, who also chose to live with Jon as a teen, agreed — and revealed that Collin would often be separated from the family.

"He would be separated from us, like he would not get to come outside and play with us. He would eat dinner at different times than us," she said.

She continued, "I don't think effort was made in the home to help him learn what behavior is acceptable, what behavior is not acceptable."

Collin added that he knows his mom "was going through a lot of things" at the time but unfairly took it out on him.

"I mean, a divorce and plenty of different things that can't be easy to go through," he said. "And, you know, I want to think that she needed someone to take out her anger and frustration on, and it was just kind of me."

He continued, "I was in the way and I was there. So, she chose me."

Although Collin has been estranged from his mother for many years, he has previously said that he hopes they can reunite one day.
