Keanu Reeves Revealed He Once Accidentally Cut A Man’s Head Open While Filming “John Wick”

Keanu Reeves is back in the action-packed John Wick: Chapter 4, and it's a wild ride.

The 58-year-old actor's stunts are in rare form. In the fourth installment, John takes his vengeful badassery to Japan and France, beating the breaks off every assassin that gets in his way.

Actors Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, and the late Lance Reddick return, joined by a few legendary newcomers with impressive résumés, including martial arts superstar Donnie Yen (IP Man franchise), Hiroyuki Sanada (Westworld), and Bill Skarsgård (It: Chapter Two).

Of course, acting alongside some of the most skilled martial artists/actors in the game, the film's fight sequences are expected to go the extra mile, and somebody might get hurt.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Keanu revealed how intense the action sequences can get. "In terms of accidents: I made a mistake once — I cut a gentleman's head open. So that really fucking sucked (excuse my language)."

"But other than that — oh, one guy got hit by a car. He was in the car, so he had to go to the hospital, but he was okay," Keanu said, most likely referring to those fight sequences on the Parisian motorways I mentioned earlier.

"All of this to say that you do have to take care. But it’s great that everyone [on set] is watching out for each other.” Luckily, as impressive as the stunts may be, there remains a level of safety on the John Wick set.

"So there's some bruising and aches and pains, but 'No humans were harmed in the filming of this motion picture!'" Keanu said, imitating a PSA announcement.

“Well, I mean everyone is pretty tired, but it’s the best kind of tired,” Keanu said of intense stunt scenes. “It’s like you climbed a mountain, now you’re resting; like you finished the game and you won.”

Franchise and action-thriller fans, John Wick: Chapter 4 delivers. You should check it out. And if you haven't started the John Wick franchise yet, get to work!

Shoutout to Lance Reddick, who starred as the scene-stealing concierge in all four films. He was an incredible actor.
