Man accidentally drowns in Alexandria river

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined the cause and manner of death.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Police are providing a major update in a investigation involving a man found dead in the river near Four Mile Park in Alexandria.

A medical examiner says 32-year-old Keben Isaias Perez drowned accidentally.

On April 24, just before 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a call reporting a body in the water on Mount Vernon Avenue. Once there, officers found a man who was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Isaias Perez. 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia conducted an autopsy and has determined that the cause of death was an accidental drowning.

Police are not searching for any suspects in connection to the death.
