Man accused of stabbing two people minutes apart in Rockville

Rockville Police told WUSA9 on the night of the stabbings that the attacks were unprovoked.

ROCKVILLE, Md. — A man accused of stabbing two people near a Metro station in Rockville was arrested on Wednesday. 

According to the Rockville City Police Department, officers were called to the Twinbrook Metro Station just before 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 13. 

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed. Officers learned minutes later that a second man had been stabbed in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, a little more than a mile away. The second man was reportedly stabbed in the back. 

Both men were taken to area hospitals and are expected to survive. 

Rockville Police told WUSA9 on the night of the stabbings that the attacks were unprovoked. 

Detectives later identified the accused as 28-year-old Muhammad Ibrahim Adam. He has since been arrested and taken to the central processing unit. He has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
