FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A man is being charged for burglarizing multiple places of worship throughout Fairfax County.

Over the span of four months, Steven Hildner broke into and burglarized at least seven churches throughout Virginia, according to police. The burglaries began on April 11 and continued through Aug. 12.

On Aug. 5, police responded to the 8200 block of Little River Turnpike, where Calvary Church of the Nazarene is located for reports of a burglary. Police said Hildner broke into the church overnight and tried to steal items, but it is unclear if he was successful. No details were given about what items -- if any -- were stolen.

Investigators were able to identify Hildner as a suspect. Officers went to his home in Loudoun County to serve a search warrant and found evidence that connected him to six other church burglaries throughout Fairfax County.

On Tuesday, Hildner was arrested and charged with five counts of Burglary, two counts of Grand Larceny, and more. He is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center with no bond.

Detectives are still investigating to confirm Hildner's involvement in other burglary cases.
