Police believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing argument.

MANASSAS, Va. — Police have arrested a man for a deadly shooting that happened in a Virginia shopping center parking lot last month.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to a shopping center in the 6300 block of Hoadly Rd. just after 1:13 a.m. on Monday, March 20.

When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old who had been shot. First responders tried to help the man but he died in the parking lot.

Investigators say the victim was standing in the parking lot with a female friend who had met up in order to exchange some documents. The alleged shooter, 46-year-old Mauricio Antonia Mayorga, followed the victim and friend to the parking lot and opened fire on the pair, killing the unidentified man.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an ongoing argument between Mayorga and the victim.

Mayorga later turned himself in to police on an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction.

Detectives later linked Mayorga to the deadly shooting and charged him with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He was already in the custody of the Arlington County Detention Center on charges from an unrelated case when the murder charge was filed.

Tanner Cook may have been critically shot while recording a prank for his YouTube page inside Dulles Town Center, but he could still face charges, according to a Loudoun County prosecutor.
