The arrest comes almost a year after the shooting.
WASHINGTON — Police have arrested a man they say is behind a deadly shooting in Northeast D.C. in winter of last year.
Just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2023, officers responded to Benning Road in Northeast for a report of a shooting. Once there, officers located a man on the sidewalk who had been shot. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries where he later died. That man was identified as 38-year-old Michael Hansley.
Almost a year later, on Tuesday, police located and arrested a suspect in the shooting death. Investigators say 39-year-old Juan Adams of Northwest D.C. is facing charges of second-degree murder while armed for his alleged involvement.
The investigation into this shooting remains active and ongoing.
