FAIRFAX, Va. — The Fairfax County Police Department released video footage Thursday of a recent arrest where the driver was stopped for driving more than 60 mph over the speed limit.

On June 22, just after 11 a.m. officers from the Reston District Station witnessed a driver going 117 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone on the Dulles Toll Road near the Fairfax County Parkway.

In police bodycam footage, the driver of a white sports car can be seen speeding around the officers. Once stopped, police also determined that the car had fictitious plates attached, but said the car was not stolen.

"That was ridiculous, he's going to jail," an officer can be heard saying in the bodycam video.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Sagar Govani, of Leesburg. Govani was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, but later released on an unsecured bond. He has been charged with reckless driving and displaying altered or fictitious plates.

FCPD said this arrest was made as part of their "Road Shark" initiative, which is aimed at decreasing aggressive driving, reducing crashes and changing driving behaiors through enforcement and education.
