Man charged with following a mother and child in a Reston store, before touching the 7-year-old girl and taking her photo

Police say 25-year-old Arturo Elmore-Adon began following the pair around the store Friday night.

RESTON, Va. — A man is facing charges after police say he followed a mother and child around a store in Reston before inappropriately touching the 7-year-old and taking a photo of her last Friday. 

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the 7-year-old girl was with her mother in a store in the 11100 block of South Lakes Drive. At around 10:30 p.m., police say 25-year-old Arturo Elmore-Adon began following the pair. 

Elmore-Adon is accused of then touching the child inappropriately and taking a picture of her without consent. He ran away before police arrived at the store and the young girl was not injured. 

Elmore-Adon was later arrested on Monday and charged with aggravated sexual battery and unlawful creation of an image of another under 18. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. 

Detectives are urging any other victims to come forward by calling the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800 and selecting option 3.
