Matthew Perry Says He's Going To Remove Those Two Extremely Random Keanu Reeves Disses From His Memoir

1 year ago 6

Last Fall, Matthew Perry released his memoir, and for a few weeks we were bombarded with "Matthew Perry did this" and "Matthew Perry did that" stories. We learned a lot about Matthew Perry against our will.

But one of the weirdest parts in his memoir were two very strange and very random digs at Keanu Reeves.

The first mention involves the passing of Matthew's friend River Phoenix.

Matthew says: “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”

What a weird thing to say!

Keanu randomly gets brought up again when Matthew discusses his other friend Chris Farley’s overdose.

"I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston’s dressing room wall when I found out," he said. "Keanu Reeves walks among us."

And now it seems like we finally have some clarity on this whole thing because Matthew finally said why he chose Keanu in the first place...

“I said a stupid thing. It was a mean thing to do,” Perry told a crowd at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

“I pulled his name because I live on the same street. I’ve apologized publicly to him. Any future versions of the book will not have his name in it.”

So, there you go. He used his name because they live on the same street.

He must really hate his lawn or something.
