Media talent discovery app Husslup has launched a new “Greenlight Studio,” which uses “ethical gen-AI” to help freelancers create and sell content. The first tool in that studio, “Full Script Assessment,” launches this week.

The platform is also utlizing AI to launch a smart content marketplace that it says will “make it easier for producers, financiers, execs and reps to efficiently and quickly discover new projects.”

Husslup founder H Schuster compares Greenlight Studio to the formation of the performer-led United Artists studio a century ago. That’s because as part of the launch, Husslup members will be given the opportunity to invest in a new round and help turn it into a community-owned studio. This round of funding opens with Vitalize Venture Capital’s Vitalize Angels, an investment group led by founder/managing Partner Gale Wilkinson.

Husslup, which moved from invite-only beta phase to a public launch of its service earlier this year, allows allows media industry users a way to find above- and below-the-line freelancers for hire. Husslup offers a network of nearly 10,000 freelancers, as well as staffing workflow management tools and a new demographics report of hires for companies to achieve their diversity goals..

Through their investment vehicle, Husslup members, comprised of freelance producers, writers and other creatives, will be able to invest in the company.

“One hundred years ago, at the dawn of feature films, a few large studios controlled the industry through the contact system,” said Husslup CEO & Founder H Schuster. “But in 1919, Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and D.W. Griffith decided to launch United Artists, a studio owned by creative talent, to free themselves of this draconian system. And by the 1930s, United Artists was distributing in 40 countries.”

Added Wilkinson: “A century later, the entertainment industry is at a similar point of inflection. A few vertically integrated companies control Hollywood and freelancers need to democratize the creative process. Greenlight Studio is designed to accomplish that.”

The first tool from Greenlight Studios, “Full Script Assessments,” is said to enable “both freelancers and executives to break down a script, as well as offering suggestions for improvement, a marketing assessment, a pitch deck and suggestions for an episodic bible.”

Users include Haley Lozitsky, exec VP for Mayim Bialik’s Sad Clown Productions: “It’s virtually instant script coverage and marketability assessment of a project we have in development was spot on.”

Husslup said the AI used “follow WGA guidelines and do not use creatives’ content to train large language models. These tools are not designed to replace creative talent. Rather, they help improve the creative process at an affordable price point.”

Next will be “Elevator Pitch Coach,” which it said “offers a detailed assessment of video pitches so that creatives can perfect their pitch before they go into the room.” Husslup plans to release three more creative tools and the content marketplace this year.
