Men arrested for firing into homes in Dumfries

DUMFRIES, Va. — Two men are in custody after being caught shooting into homes in Dumfries, Virginia.

On Saturday, officers responded to Victoria Falls Drive to investigate a shots fired call. Once there, investigators learned two men has opened fire and shot multiple rounds that struck three homes in the area. No injuries or additional property damage was found. 

Detectives arrested Daniel Antonio Colato, 29, of Woodbridge and Abdelkarim Q. Abuelhaija, of Brambleton. Both were charged with two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling. A court date is pending for the duo. 

Police have not said why the two were shooting in the area or what led up to the shooting.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
