Ms. Rachel And Elmo Collaborated For A New Video, And Toddler Parents Everywhere Are Freaking Out

"This is the Shondaland crossover for two year olds."

If you're a toddler parent (or toddler parent adjacent), you've probablyyyy heard of Ms. Rachel. And by "heard of" I mean, you find yourself singing "Phonics Song" at random hours of the day (A...Alligator...AH) and think the "Hop Little Bunnies" TikTok remix was a certified bop.

In fact, to the toddler set, this is like saying you've probably heard of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé or you've PROBABLY heard of a little band called the Beatles. But in case you surround yourself mostly with adults, Ms. Rachel is a beloved YouTube creator who makes learning videos for babies and toddlers.

And you certainly know Elmo from your Sesame Street days. He has also developed quite a social media presence, fresh off of covering the 2024 Summer Olympics.

I saw someone refer to Elmo as a "creator" and was positively tickled.

So when I was doing my Instagram scroll at lunch yesterday and saw this post from my absolute favorite influencer muppet, I audibly gasped:

That's right, Elmo and Ms. Rachel have finally collaborated (matching headbands and all) for a YouTube video. I instantly had to text my husband, because THIS IS BIG NEWS:

 "Whoah"

When I showed my daughter the picture of her heroes together, her whole face lit up and she started chanting "Ra-chel, Ra-chel," which is honestly just a Wednesday in our household.

Merriam Webster even jumped into the comments to define just how iconic this collab is:

A Merriam-Webster Instagram post defining "summit" as a conference of highest-level officials, such as heads of government. The post has 567 likes and comments

People are sharing the best jokes to highlight how frankly monumental this moment is (in anticipation of watching this video approximately 500 million times) and what exactly this crossover means. Here are some that genuinely made me LOL:

Haven’t been this excited about a duo since Linkin Park did that collision course with Jay-Z.
